
Ingredients:
115g unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
40g cocoa powder
1/2 cup plain flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
METHOD:
Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 20cm (8-inch) square baking pan or line it with baking paper.
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Add cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined, don’t overmix.
Fold in optional ingredients if using.
Pour mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 20–25 mins, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool in the pan before cutting into squares. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
