Shared Fried Bread (Parāoa Parai)

A popular side dish, perfect for sharing.

Ingredients
Oil for frying
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 Tablespoon of baking powder
Water, to mix
METHOD
Mix dry ingredients, then add water to form dough. Divide into small pieces and flatten.
Fry in hot oil until golden on both sides. Drain and serve warm.
Serve with butter and jam or with your favourite Matariki dish.
